Arcam DV29 Cannot Use DVD+/-R/RW For MP3 Files

The DV29 DVD player cannot read DVDs that have MP3 files stored on them. The machine displays "bad disc". I will read MP3 files on CD as per specification. Cheaper machines have the facility to use DVD media containing MP3s.
Will there be an upgrade to the firmware for this facility. Other then this, The DV29 is a fine player.

My 27A can play MP3 files. I think you disc has to be finalised before the DV27A/29 will read it.

I've no problem getting CDs to work. Cant get the DV29 to read MP3s on DVDs. I use Nero to burn my DVds. I don't know whether is closes the disk or not. the facility is greyed out. If your getting DVDs to be read, what software are you using? i seem to be doing something wrong.

I don;t think it works... it probably sees the dvd and tries to go into video mode.

I'm sure someone will correct me butI think only mp3 cdr's will work. (I'm using a dV88+)

It states in the DV29 manual on page 21:
The DV29 DVD player has the ability to handle MP3, WMA and JPEG, when these are burned onto a CD-R or CD-RW disc.
there is no mention of it being able to play these formats when burned onto a DVD.

Mark.
