Arcam DV29 - 480i/576i output on HDMI

    Is the interlaced signal from the HDMI output on the DV29 protected by HDCP - or can it be switched off for this vanilla interlaced output into a scaler or non-HDCP DVI projector?

    All HMDI output of protected DVDs must be itself protected, this is demanded by the HDMI license.

    I guess an SDI mod is the way to go then...

    Seems the industry has left many of us with non-HDCP display equipment out to dry :mad:

    Indeed, they have. Also, apparently pressure is being applied by the MPAA and others to close the loophole which allows SDI modding, so quite possibly that won't be an option for much longer.
