is there any way to tell if your player is a dv27+ or just a dv27
I think the Zoran 5 based DV27 will have a newer on-screen display - mine is the old one with large chunky letters! Not sure if there's any other way of telling!
Serial number contains a P, and the Mech is Lt75 or Lt76.
Perhaps Damien should add this to his FAQ page, ARCAM DVD Player Unofficial FAQ. If you don't know how to find out the Mech number check the FAQ.

whats the diffrence between lt75 and lt76 i have lt75 with 220.127.116.11
The difference between the drive software LT 75 and LT 76 is to let the player handle a Celion Dione CD which features a new copyright protection. The album is "A New Day Has Come". Unless you have this album it is not recommended to upgrade to LT76.
LT76 only resolves this issue and nothing else.
do you know if there are going to more cd with this copy protection is it going to be the norm.
There are periodic updates to the firmware and mech to address issues as they rise -- Arcam are very good at this IMHO.
As more CDs have differing copy protection, there may be more updates to address this.
BBC New's website contains plenty of articles about CD copy protection; as do many websites.
And www.arcam.co.uk contains an article under the NEWS section the John Dawsons opinions of copy protection.
