It is not a + and not a -A (which I don't want anyway). A year old and with a 12 month warranty.

Do you think it is a fair price?

Buy a brand new DiVA 88plus @ £900 , maybe £850 if your Arcam dealer likes your face, but 10% discount is more typical.
A new player will have a two year guarantee.

Fair enough, FMJ CD performance is excellent.
Not sure if it is that much better than latest DiVA ?

Had an FMJ loaner before I settled on my Denon DVD-3800 and Philips DVD-963SA but I've not tried latest 88plus with CDs.
If you are happy with your present DVD visuals everyone will soon be along suggesting for a lot less than a grand you will obtain optimum performance with two separate boxes.
If it has to be one box, what about Denon DVD-2900 or Philips DVD-963SA, maybe a Pioneer 757ai.

You've certainly a lot of options with £1000.

For £1,000 the Arcam's are imo the only options if good CD replay is your bag. I listened to the Denon 2900 last week and while it is indeed good in most area's it doesn't come even close to the Arcam's in CD replay quality. Best to use your own ears though.

    Cheers

    I'd go for it.

I paid less as it's 2 years old 2nd hand.

If you can get a bit extra knocked off then it'll be a very good price.

Have you scoured the Sevenoaks clearance/ex dem stock. They tend to sell of kit like that.

As for the DV27 vrs a DV88+/89, I'd say no arguement, get the DV27.

    You'd enjoy it more.

Haven't heard/seen the Denon, but a lot of people do really like it.

    Personally, I don't care. I like my DV27.:)

By the way, a DV27 went for £860 only just recently on EBay. Mint etc. Gives you a guide.

    I paid £700, no warranty.

Check latest software and firmware versions on it - should be 1.81 for vanilla early DV27 with a Vaddis 3 chip and 4.12.0 for a later DV27 with Vaddis 5 chip ... get dealer to do upgrade or get discs from Arcam ...
