I am ready to upgrade my old Yamaha DSP-A3090 for an Arcam AVR350 and replace my Marantz CD63mk2 KI Signature with the DV137.

If anyone could offer any advice on the following I'd really appreciate it ...

Will my Mission 752's and 75C be ok with the Arcam kit ?

How much better is the DV137 as a cd player compared to the KI Sig?

I need to upgrade the old Celestion Ditton 22s , any recommendations on some suitable rears?

    Many thanks,

    Wyatt

    Hi Wyatt,
Not heard Mission and Arcam combination but have heard Mission 78x series and Pioneer high-end AV reciever and the combination was excellent. I would personally place the Arcam sound as more laid back than the Pioneer sound, so would suggest the sound may be a little laid back, at least for my own personal tastes.
Demo Demo Demo is the golden rule. The combination may of course be perfect for you, but you won't know til you've demo'd. I'd suggest maybe with the DV137/AVR350 combo you perhaps should be looking for speakers further up the scale in order the get the best from your source & amplification.
For instance, if you do like your sound laid back, the Mission 78x (780/781/78... etc) was excellent (as long as you get units with MkII drivers in them as there was a known fault) may be perfect for you and there are bargains to be had.

Wish I could be of more help, but I just haven't heard the combo myself. If you do go that route, I'd be keen to hear what you think of the combination.

    Dan.:)

    thanks for the reply.

So how much have CD players moved on since I purchased my KI signature.
It was £500 new but that was about 10 years ago.
Just how good is the DV137 as a CD player?

    Thanks,

    Wyatt

    Hi, just noticed this thread.
I have been upgrading my original home cinema system, but still use my original speakers. I now have the AVP700 / P1000 with the Mission 752 / 75C / 731 rears, which all work together really well. I have an Arcam Alpha 6 CD player which I preferred to the KI Sig. However, I now usually just use my Arcam DV137 for CDs as well as DVD, DVD-A, SACD.

    Cheers, Graham.

    lol :)

I posted this a few weeks ago, before the purchase of my AVR350.

Apologies for now having 2 threads asking more or less the same thing.

Thanks for your reply grahamb , I'm hoping to loan a DV137 this weekend so I can compare them.

I've had my KI sig for almost a decade so it'll be a sad day when it goes !!
