Arcam avr300 - no pcm Stereo ?

Hi

Don't know if anyone can help - the guy at arcam couldn't!

I've had my avr300 just over a year using to biamp my alpha 9 cd player which all works and sounds just fine!
Just bought myself a Otptomo DV10 projector/DVD player and have connected this via an optical cable still just using a front pair of speakers for the time being.

I've no problems playing dvds in dolby digital mode but for some reason i'm getting no audio in stereo pcm mode ie playing cds or non DD dvds

Any clues ???
