Hi folks, hope someone can help me out here.
I have an Arcam AVR280 AV amp, which I only purchased a few weeks ago, and although it has two HDMI inputs and one output, I can't seem to get any sound from the amp via HDMI. This is also the case with my old Marantz DVD player. I have looked at the manual for the amp, and it says nothing about HDMI audio, only that it's a 'switching unit' for HDMI. Does this mean that the amp doesn't 'do' HDMI audio? It works fine with the digital coax cable connected, and I get DD5.1 from the one BD disc I have, I Robot. Bit of a bummer if this is so, as the Arcam wasn't cheap!
TIA,
Simon.
