    Hi Folks.

Got to ask, and no I don't have any inside information.

Are Arcam working on anything new in the processor department at the moment, which might be released in the coming months? I am particularly thinking of the HDMI switching side of things. I am also told that the AV8 does not do DTS 96/24 decoding but don't know what the full implications of this might be.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks, G. :)

DTS 24/96 is worthless, simply so few discs it is largely an irrelevance

Arcam will let people know when they release a new products and not before. However their DVD players do support this new format but the current state of the silicon is that you can now have a HDMI output that fully complies to HDMI spec but not yet a HDMI input that fits the HDMI full spec, the silicon just doesn't exist yet. When it becomes available…….

    Thanks Beekeeper.

Looks like the AV8 might not be a bad investment then?

    Thanks, Gerald. :)

AV8 is the class leading bit of kit IMHO, I would certainly be happy if I had made this purchase
