Arcam AV8 question about subwoofer control.

Can someone help with this please. I am thinking about connecting 2 subwoofers from my pre outs on the back of the amp instead of just the one. However what I want to know is when I play a Blu ray through my Oppo which is connected via the multi channel inputs (dvda) on the AV8, will it pick up the second sub even though I only have 6 analog cables from the Oppo to the amp. I understand that connecting it up this way the amp only acts like a volume switch, so will my amp send the info to the second sub?

All sub outputs are active at all times for both analogue and digital sources, but of course with the analogue source bass management will need to be carried out by the source.

You should tell the AV8 that you have 2 subs in the relevant advanced setup menu, to ensure that sound sent to both subs is adjusted by -3dB, ensuring the combined total SPL is correct.
