    Just wondering as i have an AMX remote here but no processor if it is possible to connect it directly to my AV8 with a RS232 cable and control it ??

    It would help if you could let us know the AMX model name...

    Sorry Guys meant to say it was an AMX AXT-CA10 - not really sure what to do with it at the moment as the i have the remote but the other half want the house done before i can get a processor for it so it seems such a shame to have it just lying there hence the question

    I like the way you refer to a 10.4" touchpanel as a "remote" :laugh:

    Yes, you do need an AMX control processor of some description to accompany your touchpanel. Which one you choose depends on how many devices you are planning on interfacing with. If it is just the AV8, then AMX are in the process of launching a new baby processor - the NI-700 - with 1 IR output port and 2 RS232 ports.
