Arcam A49 Balanced Output

I doubt you would notice a difference between the standard and the balanced, the balanced would be better if you had a very long cable. The Arcam's need an external amp to make use of the balanced pre-outs, therefore to drive the Senns you would need a headphone amp with balanced inputs.

Are you not happy with the headphone out on the Arcam? I know the Senns can be hard to drive and can need some careful partnering. I use a Lehmann Linear to partner my Oppo PM1s as my Rega doesn't have headphone out and is connected using the record RCA out from the Rega. This would be the best way to connect your Arcam to a headphone amp as it too has a record circuit.

Could certainly be worth selling. It was the other way around with Oppo the balanced cable was extra. My Lehmann doesn't have balanced anway, neither does the Rega. Lovely combination that you have.
