I just got an amp Arcam 8R without manual and I was wondering if I can use it with 3 amps Marantz MA-500 to get a 5 ch setup. The other question is if I can use the Arcam 8R just as a preamplifier to drive 2 amps MA-500 in a two channel stereo setup. Since I do not have the manual for the 8R any other info regarding the above questions would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. Raul. :lease:

The Arcam 8R does have a preout pair of phono sockets to connect to another amp, but it will only control a stereo input, not 5.1 from a DVD etc. You could plug the 5 speaker channels from a DVD player with analogue outputs into 3 integrated amps, but you would need to adjust the volume on each amp and would therefore never be able to get a balanced sound.
