right folks be patient theres a lot to go though. I now have this player and heres how it shapes up against the others i have had:

JVC XV100 - came with my first all in one - awful

LIMIT 9900SE - just don't, only my opinion but shocking remote, feels like paper, tray 'fell off', scart output faulty. returned it to RS

Yamaha 520 - Ok picture, worth the money but no component output so had to go when my 42" plasma (panny5) arrived.

Philips 963sa - nice looking player apart from the blue airport runway light on the front. Pal P hack worked but had three lines on the left of the image. Picture quality was good but nothing special, funnily enough the menu is identical to the yamaha

Arcam 88+ - end of the line i hope. Absolutely incredible picture on the plasma, pal ps out of the box, wonderful cd playback, i cannot find a fault with it. I would go far as to say it really is worth the money and some of the best cash i've ever spent

Thats my dvd player story. 5 in three months. i never thought i'd get there but now i'm actually content.

I will take this opportunity to thank everyone who as provided great advice while i have been building this system

    Rob:)
