    Dear reader,

I have bought a Samsung HT-H5500 (home cinema) and a Samsung UE40H6700 (tv).

Everything works great, except one thing: When i turn the tv and home cinema off, and a while later i will start both on, my TV Sound On function doesn't work anymore.

TV Sound On is a function of Samsung and ensures that the TV sound will be heard via the home cinema speakers. When i reset my Home Cinema and then startup TV Sound on. The display will show my tv programs and i hear sound with ARC. But when i turn both off and a while later on, and then press the Sound On button, it doesn't work. I only see an explainscreen of the home cinema how to use TV Sound On, not my TV Programs. Then i reset my H5500 and try it again and i see my tv programs, but i have no sound. After 2 resets, both works. Sound and display as well.

Summary: I have to reset 2 times my homecinema set to enable anynet+ via ARC everytime.
Question: How to resolve this problem? I want to use TV Sound On directly, not after two resets.
Additional information: Samsung UE40H6700 (tv), Samsung HT-H5500 (home cinema) and both have the newest software updates.

Many thanks in advance and i hope to hear from someone soon.
My apologies for any bad English.

    Kind regards,
    Larss

HDMI CEC - has been unreliable since day one.

CEC - are there any other CEC enabled devices connected to the HT system?

The 'fix' - disable CEC and use a programmable remote usually works best.

ARC - relies on CEC being enabled so if you were to disable CEC you will need to add in an Optical cable between the TV and the HT System.

    This!

Very much as Joe says above, the HDMI control buggieness took my system out of action for three days before I could diagnose it properly, I use a Harmony remote these days.

    Hello Joe,

There are no other CEC devices enabled, only my TV.
What do you mean with the fix, i don't get it, like how to disable CEC for example. Which programmable remote?
So i need an optical cable. I can buy one, but do you think TV Sound On will work directly without resetting?

    Thanks.

The Fix - is to disable CEC on both devices and go with a Harmony or similar Programmable remote.

You will require a 1 x Optical cable between the TV and the HT system - I am assuming the TV has Optical Out and the HT has Optical Input!

You will be able to programme the Harmony 'activity' macros to achieve what you require.

    Hello Joe,

    You mean:
step 1) Disable CEC (Anynet+) on HT-system and TV
step 2) Put optical cable between HT-system and TV
    step 3) optional Reset HT-system
step 4) TV Sound On will work directly without reseting (via HDMI-cable and optical cable)?

    Thanks in advance.
