Searched everywhere guys can't find the answer. Connected the Apple TV Gen 3 to my Denon 2310 receiver via HDMI got the picture working but no sound. Should I try an optical cable for the audio? I can't remember having a problem when I last used it but its been in storage for 2 year and now updated with later firmware.

    Any suggestions guys?

Try the Apple in a different hdmi input on the Denon. Possibly use one that you know is working with another device. Maybe the Denon has the audio assigned to optical or coax on the input you plugged the Apple into.
Failing that, a reset of the Apple TV might help. ' settings- general- reset'
Or possibly a full restore to factory settings in the same menu.
