Apple TV+ how to buy content without apple device?

Hope someone knows the answer.
I've put Apple TV+ on my Bravia and signed up and all is good, but I cannot buy content. If I select something that is chargeable I have a How to Watch button but when I click it it takes me to another page that says I can only buy via Iphone, Ipad or Streaming Service etc.
I really don't want to install Itunes on my PC, so is there any other way to buy? Seems a massive oversight that I cannot just buy through the TV.

As of today this option has now been removed from Android TV:

Apple TV app on Android TV no longer allows rentals, purchases, or subscriptions

You can only watch what you’ve paid for elsewhere.
