Apple tv 2 to Standard Definition

Its got HDCP (according to the description) so it definitely should. You might need to set it up on a monitor/TV that does have HDMI incase the ATV defaults to 1080p due to auto resolution most likely getting 'confused' in the conversion.

I've been looking for a cheaper alternative to HDFury and this might just be it. Thanks for posting this.

Bear in mind Composite video and Component video are not one and the same!

Converting the High Definition signal from the ATV2 to Composite video will require a different box – what size is the TV your looking to use/replace.

HDMI to YUV converters don’t all produce the same results – HDFury2 does a great job and stands up well even where your projecting a large image, other devices may be OK on smaller Displays but best to plug it in before you get too excited about the price!!!

A list of Inputs available (or a link to an online user manual) plus an idea of how much you’re willing to splash out on a converter would be good!!!

It has two scart inputs and a the yellow, red and white cable sockets (RGB/RCA is it??)

Well can get a new 32" HD flat screen for £200 ish so obviously less than that , so suppose max £100 as otherwise might as well get a new tv

Cheers

RCA is the connecter type.

A Yellow + White + Red RCA is usually Composite Video + Stereo audio.

SCART Inputs can usually take Composite or RGB video + Stereo audio.

There are HDMI to SCART adapters available for sub 100 GBP – though any we have tried have proven to be pretty poor quality.

Assuming the new TV produces a decent image I’d be tempted to say bite the bullet and go down that route rather than blow cash on a ‘converter’ to drop the ATV2 image down in quality.
