I setup Apple Pay on my iPhone this morning. When I double pressed the button on my Watch it said there were no cards setup. Do you have to setup cards separately on the Watch?

You add cards in the Apple Watch app on the iPhone (under Passbook and Apple Pay).

So the Watch and the iPhone can use different cards? I suppose it allows flexibility, but it seems needlessly complex.

Will this work in any shop with a card reader or does it have to be a shop thats signed upto apple pay?

I think the fact that Apple Pay does not work on pre-iPhone 6 phones makes this necessary.

I have a 5S which is not compatible with Apple Pay (no NFC chip) but I do have an Apple Watch which is compatible. So I need some way to set it up for the watch (where the functionality is disabled on my phone).

The shop has to be signed up with Apple Pay (but hopefully most contactless card readers can be simply upgraded).

Id read that can use any card reader for £20. Or if they have signed upto apple pay its limit less. Just can see anything concrete. I cant try as HSBC have delayed it now.

According to Apples website, you can use it anywhere that accepts Contactless payments

All done on mine. Took seconds, did it this morning. Very impressed. Same card on both iPhone and Watch. Obviously have to set up on both but it was painless.
What impressed me more was finally understanding the passcode feature. As long as the watch is on your wrist you don't need to input a code. If you remove it then it wants one.

I always thought it would be like an iPhone in operation - code every time that you want to use it.

    Very clever stuff!

I don't believe this is true. I think any contact less payment terminal will work just fine.

Yeah very impressed with the setup of Apple Pay. Really easy.

Any contactless terminal works with Apple Pay.

Anywhere with an Apple Pay sticker can choose to override the £20 limit by updating their system.

H&M have already announced they will. I expect others will follow suit.

Think I'll probably use this feature once in a blue moon. There just aren't enough NFC terminals where I live.
