My daughter's macbook has just started to have a problem with its speakers. She can no longer listen to music via the macbook's inbuilt speakers - if she plugs in speakers or headphones she can hear her music.

Has anyone come across this before - is there a way to fix it?

    Many thanks
    Caroline

Does the MacBook go "boing" when it is restarted/rebooted?

No, the boing has gone too. The socket for speakers/headphones is lit up though.

Sounds like you're not alone - see this. Sort of sorting this yourself, call up Apple Support and see what they can do for you without any charge.
