Apple choose Blu-Ray disk for Macs.

    Yep. Good stuff!
    HD-DVD MIGHT be the cheaper/easyer to access format, but Blu Ray has the brightest future simply becoz of the bigger capacity which will be a major factor a few years down the road. IF HD became a success it would be a short lived one.
    Blu Ray has the capacity to go al the way up to 100gb (4 layers)

    Anyways, if Apple is behind Blu Ray and Disney is too, then we can expect all Disney and Pixar movies to come to blu!

    just cos something is better / bigger etc doesnt mean it will win a format war.

    Just like the worst possible video recording format crippled home video entertainment for 30 years.
    Not that HD-DVD is similarly bad, it's actually quite OK. What is ironic is that the perpetrator of the above mentioned video crime (JVC) is now in the Blue-ray camp :)

    Wasn't it Sony who lost the battle in the first place and now they are championing BluRay ?

    We all saw how Sony never gave up with Mini-disc, I'm pretty sure we can assume the same defiance with Blu-ray.

    I just want someone to win it quickly. HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, I don't care. Although on paper Blu-Ray should be better.
