Hi guys. I ordered a new mac mini a couple of weeks back direct off apple store. Just had a letter this morning saying "thank you for taking out apple care for your mac mini". Now I never picked apple care or more importantly paid for it, so whats gone wrong (or right ;)) or am I just reading the letter wrong? The only thing I did was buy through the education portal, not sure if that makes a difference? The letter says I now have apple care till 2016, can you check online if a apple item has apple care cover?

    all very confusing

I *think* AC is included in Edu purchases, but don't quote me on that.

All educational purchased Macs come with a slight diluted version of AppleCare. There's a sticky on here covering everything.

In a nutshell, you get 3 years hardware support but without the full telephone support.
