I'm wondering is it possible to show 'ripped' DVDs in vista media centre, in the same way that ripped CD's show up in the library?

Obviously if it wasn't necessary to re-encode the DVD, I'd prefer to leave them on the hard-drive in their origional DVD format, if there was some way to get VistaMediaCentre to list them? Rather than having to go thru the pain of re-encoding them into an AVI/MP4 format.

I've been working my way through my DVD collection, and bought "Xilisoft's DVD to MP4 Converter" as a means of encoding the VOB files to MP4, while it's a great product, I've noticed that it's only using 50% of the CPU when encoding, it's going to take me an age to re-encode all my DVDs.

If playing VOB files thru media centre is not a runner, would you have any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance for your assitance
