Just a quick question. Is it worth getting the R1 dts version of this film with no extras, or should I go for the R1 DD edition? Is the dts mix a lot better, or are they much of a muchness?

If the DTS version only has a couple of less extras I would go for it (for example - Saving Private Ryan) but if the DTS version has no extras I would go for the DD5.1 version.

    I don't have either though.

I've never heard DTS but i have the R1 DD version and it's excellent. If you like extras then i strongly recommend it as it features the 1 hr documentary which is on the UK video, commentary with Ron Howard, another commentary with Jim (the actual commander of Apollo 13) and Marilyn Lovell, trailers and the menu has a hidden feature of the entire soundtrack (if you just let it play) which you can fast forward and skip just like a cd. The pictures great and it's anamorphic so I say go for it.

A great movie, superb disc, and sadly ignored by Oscar.
