Its close, very close, 20 days infact. Now when I hear the postman shuv something through the letterbox I cant help but wonder if my copy has been posted early. Fat chance!
So most people went to see it at the Cinema, most people enjoyed it and criticised it for the mistakes but which of you will be buying the DVD? And for what reasons?

I'll be buying it, along with any other version Lucas decides to release in the future . I actually did love the film though - saw it 5 times in the cinema.

SW films are visually rich and there's often something new to be seen on repeat vewings. Despite the weakish plots, the set pieces are great!

I think you cant deny that the Star Wars films are great Home Cinema movies - worth having just to put the battle scenes on! ;)

Badass,

I think you've missed out an option here on your poll !!!

Those people who thought it wasn't particularly great but, will buy it because it is simply the second instalment of the greatest saga in film history. And will buy it simply to keep in their collection, regardles of qualities etc ( but only to a point ) :)

Cheers
Kev

P.S. We must compare systems some time.
I'm on Stanney Oaks !!!

So you dont think it was excellent, you dont want it for the excellent P/S quality but your getting it because it has StarWars on the cover?

P.S Sure Id love to compare systems.:) Plz tell me youve got twin Velodyne HGS 18 Super-subs and a copy of Titan AE!!!
You live on the Stanney Oaks? The Beverly Hills of Ellesmere Port! ;)

Read the post !!!

It was mearly an option, i think you could have considered.

Yes i do have Titan AE, but dont have £4500 to spend on a couple of subs, no matter how good they are!!!

Oh , and lastly i dont feel even slightly embarassed about where i live. I guess the invite is now retracted!!! :D

Dont you have a CHT 15 on order with Uncle Eric?

I wasnt taking the p***. Stanney Oaks really is the Berverly Hills of Ellesmere Port! I on the other hand live on the poor side, Stanney Grange. :(

I agree with mozzer. I was looking for the 'Because I intend to buy the whole series and it was an OK film' option.

Although out of the ones that are available, I had to vote PQ and SQ. The fact that it's the first ever live action, full length film created with HD digital cameras will also appeal to many.

I'll rent it to refresh my memory... from what I can remember at the cinema it was a terrible film with only the special effects worthy of note. I very much doubt I'll buy it, there are better films I want in my collection before I consider buying things just because they look and sound good.

It certainly wasn't an excellent film, in my opinion, so I've abstained from voting as none of the candidates appeal to me:p

I've got an order in because, like Episode 1, I found it a cheery no brainer that'll fill many an evening.
I thought it had some horrendous faults as far as movies go, but repeated viewings will soften all the bad points same as I've found with Episode 1. I'm certainly not buying it for the PQ or SQ or the extras, and I admit I couldn't give a rats a55 if someone killed Lucas stone dead tomorrow and left the 3rd film unmade.

A bit like Police Academy then. Started off great and subsequently milked the franchise for all it was worth.

Can't wait for the Police Academy special editions with new special effects and politically correct re-edit. :)

This would be like Trevor and Phillip's MPAA Approved 'Asses of Fire' in South Park The Movie, yes? ;)

(The MPAA version is 2 minutes long...)

Yes, getting it because its one of the series and is a great DVD for showing on a PJ.

Not a good film, ok and reasonably entertaining. But you have to remember that all of us are a lot older now and remember it as one of the best fils of our mis spent youth. Things move on however and but I still occasionally pick up a comic instead of Hemmingway.

I'll be buying 'cos I thought it was the best Star Wars yet. Sorry, I tried not too, but I just enjoyed it so much.

I remember when 'Empire' was first released and got pretty much the same sort of criticism that was levelled at AOTC, you know, weak character development, over reliant on special effects (behold the sock puppet in the asteroid), a travesty/rehash of the original etc etc and now, 20 years on, it's seen as the best of the lot. Funny that.

I'll be getting it because i is wonderfully good fun and the sort of film which rightly i will watch over and over (as with all the original films)
