Anytime really is a waste of time.

Now, not content to waste potentially useful HDD with stuff you can already watch on Sky on schedule yourself, they also have to repeat them too...

Not a few days since it was "last chance", Kingdom of Heaven is once again on Wasteoftime.

Not content with repeating it ad infinitum on Sky Movies HD, now they are going to start repeating it on wasteoftime too!!

Well KOH is on at a much better bitrate than the last HD2 broadcast, so is worth repeating. Also King Kongs on in HD on Anytime and mint quality.

If I wasn't clear, I mean that KOH has already been on Anytime once. It is now repeated again on Anytime.

Isn't it enought that they repeat the umpteen times on regular sky, without having to now repeat them umpteen times on Anytime too?

Are Sky that devoid of any new content, that Anytime is just another vehicle for repeats?

Its 1 show that has had a repeat!.

Maybe it was popular so Sky thought they would give those people a 2nd chance ?

If it happens regular then complain but damn your getting stressed over somthing so small ?

Time to get some Pills for the stress....

Yep, for me Anytime is a Waste of Time. If only they gave you the choice of larger HDD space and switch off Anytime.
Still its not too long before I can cancel Sky altogether and switch to freeveiw and downloads.

Don't think Loz is getting stressed about it , however he does have a valid point.

I'm all for Anytime , & have been since it started. I've watched about 6 programmes , which I know I would not of watched otherwise. It has not interfered with any other function on my box , & to me it's just an extra , all be it rather weak at the moment , extra feature/service.

That said , when I checked at lunchtime whether anything had been added , my words were......." What the hell has KOH been downloaded again for "

I agree with Loz. This is played countless times on the normal movie channels , so why oh why now repeat it on the Anytime service.

Ok I take the point that it's only one repeat , however what that tells me is that this new Sky Anytime Editor is running out of ideas & prepared to repeat programmes & films.

    Regards James

    Exactly!

Just a few weeks into the service, and they cannot find anything new to show?

Thinking about it , I feel quite a few repeats coming our way over the next 2 or 3 weeks.

My reasoning is the fact that some Sky+ boxes now have Anytime. Sky+ users would of missed the programmes that HD users were given over this period.

I have this feeling that the programmes HD users have had over the last 3 or so weeks will now be downloaded again for Sky+ users , therefore HD users getting them again.

Did any of that make sense ? ........I know what I mean.

    Regards James

If sky want anytime to work properly HD boxes and sky+ boxes should be seperate.

I agree with Loz why KOH, they could have downloaded Underworld Evolution or any other avaliable HD film we haven't seen.

While I'm happy with some of the content, sky need to pull their finger out and give us content tailored to our viewing habits (or preferences on sky.com) and not repeats, also if we want to keep it we should be allowed to in the anytime space.

As trancefan indicated above. The reason KOH was repeated on anytime was cause originaly it used up 7% and franckly i was a bit disapointed with the quality. Now it uses 13% of hard drive space

I really can't see why people get so worked up about disk space/Anytime.

Apart from giving you the chance to watch things that you wouldn't ordinarily watch (because you didn't realise it was on), the bit rate tends to knock spots off the normal broadcast.

At the end of the day:

    1. Its a free sevice.

    2. The disk space it uses was never the consumers as the box was sold as 160GB, not 300.

    3. You can always turn it off if you don't like it!

I intended to add the following comment to the previous reply.

Although Anytime is free to subscribers it has a cost to Sky and the money they spend on the service is unlikely to be be paid for out of profits So money spent on Anytime is more than likely going to mean the is less to be spent on better HD which is what most of us want.

But you will be able to record them normally using your planner....

There's nothing on Anytime that isn't on regular sky. You aren't missing anything.

Are you saying it was only 7% the first time KOH was on Anytime?
