    Hi There,

I was wondering whether anyone who has the latest HD Ready SamsungSamsung (PS42S5H) would post a pic of their screen in its full glory as I am seriously thinking of purchasing this over the Hitachi, but my fate in the Hitachi gets better when I see it set up like this:

(thanks to:mjm2705 - hope you don't mind me reposting your pic as it displays the hitachi perfectly in my opinion)

Go on post your Samsung pics as the only ones I seem to be able to get are these crappy looking ones that you can't get a look at:

    Thanks in advance

Hi, here's the setup Dunks posted slightly tidied up. I intend to wall mount the panel, but that'll be next month! Cabling is a bit better but still some work to do!

Thanks to all for posting the pics, but after seeing it in the flesh and your pics - I actually don't like the look of it (it looks small for a 42" - just my opinion now!)

So I have ordered the Hitachi PD7200 as I think it is the 2nd best looking (and performing 42" plasma and is only beaten by the Pioneer XDE)

    iN MY OPINION

Samsungs non removable speakers spoils all fun. That's what Max meant.
It looks like 4:3, not 16:9 with those spakers. if only they were black...

    Thanks Snap

Yes, it was just my opinion that the Samsung looked very "square (ish)" - just thought that the Hitachi looked better in the pictures and then when I saw both of them side by side - I was totally put off the Samsung. Just think the Hitachi has the better "wow" factor, again only in my opinion.

I am just waiting on delivery of my Hitachi, but if money was no object and based on pure looks - the Pioneer wins every time.

I want quality on the screen I purchase (Think Im getting it with the Hitachi), but it still has to look good. Think the Hitachi is just behind the Pioneer:

One of the best set ups Ive seen involved the pioneer:

Anyone know who this ones' is as I am interested in the cabinet - if I can't buy it, Im going to have it made?

    hi tjradiohead
thanks for the link for the sky code.... i will give that a go .

I like the sammy and i am getting a good picture from most sky channels
i dont watch a lot of football sorry so cant comment on that one.

Had to play with the colour settings for a while as it was screaming at me when i first set it up.

my dvd feed isnt great yet but i can put that down to a naff scart and very cheap Cello DVD/Divx player i am using.
i will be investing a better scart for the sky box and some component leads for the dvd.

i will go hdmi dvd at some point just waiting to find a unit i like as divx is quite important to me.

i am sure you wont be dissapointed in the panel and i really like the look now its on the wall and off the stand.
