These guys seem to get a great deal of praise in the US and Canada. If you look at their products it's not hard to see why. High quality stuff for very reasonable prices. I was just wondering if anyone over here and bought from them? Thought I'd ask before taking the plunge.

I just placed an order for:

    Stereo RCA interconnect 4 feet
    Digital coax 4 feet

£26.66 charged via Paypal. I'm getting it shipped to my cousin in the US (same price for international shipping, but it's very slow) as my Dad is over there on holiday and can bring them back with him.

At the moment my DVD player is connected via a cheap coax cable. I have to say that I will be very surprised if the new one sounds any different but a heck of a lot of people have told me that cables made from these components do sound better. I will soon find out!

    :)

[Edit - there are some decent articles on the site too http://www.bluejeanscable.com/articles/index.htm ]

    Hi Daneel,

I reckon Bluejeanscables are superb as they use top quality Belden cable and crimped on Canare connectors. Their service is great too - I usually receive my orders within a week, customs permitting. Hope you like them!

Dutch, I didn't notice before you said only a week for delivery.

What's the longest you have had to wait? Do you normally get hit by customs and what amount of charges have you had to pay?

I've ordered from Bluejeans and received my order in 3 working days!

Like Dutch said, they use HQ cabling and terminate them using good connectors- the pricing appears very competitve compared to similar cables (eg, from the powerbuy section of this forum).

Echo what others have said. Ordered two sets of component cables and they arrived within a week with no customs hassles. Superb quality and great prices.

I also want to try one of their 4ft component cables. Has anyone had customs bill at all. Is it a 50/50 chance?

I might order a 20ft digital audio cable as well, would this attract customs even more?

    Good idea.

I have been looking at their ebay site and think using separate 1694 cables rather than the combined 1710 would be better. It is also cheaper at just £21 for 4 ft.

I don't like the idea of the combined weight of all three cables on my DVD/PJ sockets. The cable has to go vertical.

They might also show the goods to be 'samples'

Well I've recieved two orders so far. The 2nd one was hit with a customs charge :(

I'm very impressed with the quality of the products, very well put together. I really like the 12 guage Belden speaker cable, although it can be bought for 1/2 the price in bulk. I need about 150 feet, any people interested in sharing out the remaining 850 feet from a 1000 feet reel?

I'm not nearly as impressed with their customer service though. I ordered the wrong connectors on the first digital cable (I still don't know how I managed that) and emailed them to see if there was any way they could help me out. They never replied :(

Delivery time seems to be about a week and a half.

Having to pay by Paypal is also annoying, their currency conversion is a rip off, I get a much better deal from my credit card.

Bad luck on the customs charge, what amount was it if you don't mind?

If I used BJC. I would use their Ebay account. The 4 foot 1710A component cable I am interested in is £23.35 ($43.00). The postage would be another £6.50 ($12). So for less than £30 I think it is a good price. Customs on top would be unlucky.

I think it was VAT plus the £4 admin charge.

Hrm, with your cable I'd buy straight from the site. $43 + $5.75 shipping, then email them and ask them to mark it down so there is no customs hit.

The BJC site makes look like only the US, Canada and international surface mail to be $5.75 shipping and to ring for international orders by airmail.

I have had stuff by surface mail take anywhere up to 2 months.

I paid the $5.75 for my last order and it took about a week and a half.

For me some things turn up in 2 weeks and some takes a lot longer. I think I would rather pay the extra $3 and get airmail.

I am trying to decide whether to go for a Thor component cable which I can get at £18 or one from BJC. I probably go for the separate 1694A cables so they don't weigh so much and put strain on the sockets. It is for a PTAE100 projector.

    I've ordered twice from them.

I only paid the standard surface mail charge, but in both cases they sent them air mail

I have finally ordered a 4 foot component cable (separate 1694A rather than 1710A).

I've just placed an order for a Digital Audio Cable (Belden 1694A 3ft) after BJC was recommended on this site. It cost me $18-50 (inc P&P) and is better than the £40 I was going to pay for another cable  .

I am also probably going to order a 1694A digital cable. I decided to wait for the component cable to come first and demo it. The cable I want is a 20 foot one which will be just £11 plus postage so, it will get through customs no trouble.

You could always try Mark Grant or Paul Groundwater (groundy), they both use the same cable and connectors, i'm sure they'd match bluejeans and you'll have it quicker.

I never thought of asking Mark for a price match. I would think everyone would be asking him the same if he did.

Anyway, I have ordered the component cable from BJC and it should be posted today. I can finally try one of these cables that people on here keeps talking about.

I have been waiting nearly three weeks now for the component card and a card came through the post, You guessed it, customs charge.

They want £7.78 paid for a £21 cable.

I have been testing the component cable for the last few hours and have to say it is excellent. Even with the customs charge, it is worth it.

I am also glad I opted for the single 1694 cables and the bigger 1710 would have been too thick. The cables go vertically up to the Projector (AE100) from the DVD player (Sony NS585) between two bits of furniture.
