Has anyone seen the DVD for We Were Soldiers yet? It looks like a big production war movie, but was released with little fanfare. Is it just average or what ? Anyone got an opinion please?

Good film, once you get past all the sentimental rubbish at the beining theres a cracking battle scene for most of the movie. Picture quality was one of the worse ive seen for months but the sound made up for that. One of the best films for surround sound ive heard, guns, helicopters, mortors and artillery, who could ask for more?

In my opinion WWS was better than Black Hawk Down. This film had a story.

do you swim in Piranha infested waters to relax?

I thought this movie was really intense. and if this is 'typical american dross' I look forward to much more dross like it.

i suppose i was expecting another saving private ryan ,after all the good reviews it was getting.
i just dont think it came across well, yes there was loads of gore etc,but to me it just looked like another war movie,no emotion where as saving private ryan was intense and in your face.
spr was the only movie,to me,that has shown the real horrors of the ww2,i was hoping this would show the same for the vietnam war.

just my thoughts i think ill watch it again to see if ive missed something.

    cheers carl

And turn the sound up another 10db. If you cant feel those Artillery Guns as if you were stood next to them then youve seen, but not experienced this movie yet. :D
