Actually I was quite impressed with the film. I was expecting a typical Willis actioner but instead it was more like Black Hawk Down (although IMO not quite as good). Some scenes are particularly harrowing.
Be warned though, if you harbour even slight anti-American tendancies, avoid the last five minutes.
Have seen this film ,it is a typical Willis film but I can never understand why he stars in such rubbish as this. If the projector had broken down halfway through I wouldn,t have worried; that is how much I cared for the characters. I saw this as a double bill with Tommy Lee Jones in the Hunted I think that is what it is called. Another load of rubbish, don,t get me wrong I enjoy "action" movies but they have to be better than this. The only saving grace was I saw this double bill in a drive in movie in Barbados!
Watched Tears of the Sun yesterday and thought it really good and i did care for the characters, monica belluci mmmmmm
it has a gritty feel to it and i liked it, wonderful music score too.
Not too sure if this is true?....but i saw an article that said Diehard 4 was going to be a very similar story to tears',so they canncelled making another film in the series!!!!!poor bruce
Very true. Die Hard: Tears Of The Sun was rumoured a few years back (I was obsessed with action films and would search the interent for every scrap of info I could). I think it was even put on iMDB for a short while. It was eventually scrapped and the name used for a different script.
However Die Hard 4: Die Hardest is now in production so everyones a winner!
Other action sequels that narrowly missed out on sequels include Speed 3 involving a guy terrorising LA in an army helicopter (I kid you not, Keanu Reeves was even mentioned as returning). Thankfully that fell through.
