I heard about this film recently from a fellow martial arts flick fan and he said it was fantastic. I was just wondering if any of you guys have seen it and could give a good, brief review. The ones I have seen on the net have been very mixed and a lot of ppl seem to not like it for no reason.

    Thanks.

I thought it was fun for the first few minutes, but it got boring pretty fast.

Even if you like martial arts movies from japan, and think some of them are funny - this one grows old before it's even begun.

All of the jokes are done to the extreme, it gets so pathetic....
    Pretty lame.

I couldn't take it no more, so I quit viewing after 20 minutes.

It's one that you'll either love or hate. It's impossible to say beforehand which one it'll be.
I didn't think much to it, and I'll watch pretty much any kung fu movie no matter how good/bad.
It's a one-joke movie really. One to rent, not to buy.

I saw the trailer on the Super Troopers DVD. I have to say there were a few bits in the trailer that were hilarious :D but having said that, I've been caught out before with trailers - sometimes, the trailers are ALL the funny jokes there are in the movie :( Given all the really bad reviews this movie has had, I personally decided to wait for this until it gets real cheap.

It's the oul "The quality of a trailer is inversely proportional to the quality of the film" trick. I hate that.

Thanks guy, guess I'll rent it first. FYI I did like Shaolin Soccer although it was very slow to get moving.
