Has anyone seen Harold & Kumar Get The Munchies What's it like? any good?
Assuming it's the same movie as Harold & Kumar go to White Castle... it's OK, nothing special. Above average stoner comedy i.e. not brainless, but doesn't hold a candle to Jay & Silent Bob. Worth a rental but not a keeper (IMO anyway).
I guess they must have dropped the WC reference thinking no-one outside of the US would know what WC is (a burger chain, if you indeed... don't).
This is one of those films i've seen on the rental shelf and thought about renting, but passed cause i thought it would be a bit poo, but ended up getting a loan of it off someone at work, and ended up quite enjoying it.
There are a few laugh out loud moments i thought, and a smattering of chuckles throughout.. Even my other half enjoyed it!
A few faces pop up you may recognise, Ryan Reynolds (Mr van Wilder), and Eddie Kay ... AKA.. Finch from american pie.
AFAIK WC just means water closet, ie toilet.
tyhat what we think it is but in US its burgar chain as cmcg55 says.
its ok movie better than most recent comedies worth a rent but not a keeper.
I've seen white castle and enjoyed it, but rental rather than buy. is Munchies the same movie for the UK or a follow up?
Just looked at IMDB and yes it the same movie just renamed for the UK market.
I'm a bit surprised at the mediocre reviews here. I found this film to be hilarious. The physical comedy bits were excellently done, and the sheer absurdity of the humor really nailed it for me. I was laughing out loud throughout most of the film.
Although I wouldn't buy the DVD (few comedies are rewatchable, IMO), as far as I'm concerned, this is a must-see rental. It's stupid, it's childish, but it's pretty damn funny.
I was a little confused by the renaming of the film over here. Sure, nobody knows what White Castle is, but it's clearly explained in the opening 5 minutes of the film. Just another case of renaming a film for no good reason for the foreign market. (I'm guessing someone has to justify their job)
I agree Azrikam the film was funny but only really worth renting really. Does not test our home cinema kit most of the time - as with most our comedies - with the dialogue and most of the sound coming out of the centre speaker. However, you may think otherwise.
trailer for the sequel Harold & Kumar 2: Escape from Guantanamo Bay here, cant post due to some choice words. I enjoyed the first film Harold & Kumar Get The Munchies
Here's a poster.
I liked it but the guy who said it's a poor Jay and Silent Bob are true, like a crap J and Silent Bob mixed with Road Trip
I thought this film was pretty funny too, seen it a few times when it's been on sky movies. completely stupid, but funny.
Strong language and nudity fellas
MOD EDIT: Sorry, very funny trailer, but this is a family forum, so I have had to remove the link.
Should be a riot, - i did link this above, but due to forum rules was not brave enough

Just saw advert for Harold & Kumar 2: Escape from Guantanamo Bay on TV which said it's finally in cinemas on May 30th, though i could only find it mentioned on Cineworld website. Looking forward to this as really enjoyed Get The Munchies once I was convinced to watch it
me too, im tempted, the 1st one was great.
Here's a direct link download (.flv) as on page1, to the red band trailer for over 18's or something, which cant be shown on tv.
my cinema (showcase) dont seem to have it listed as well
Absolutely loved the first one and yet to see the 2nd one as of yet!
It all depends on your comedy tastes but i like stupid stuff so its right up my street!
Oh for anyone wanting another decent "stoner" comedy watch "Grandmas boy"
Harold and Kumar along with Jay and Silent Bob is one of my fave funnies. The 2nd installement looks pretty good too.
Anyone managed to see this yet? Worth trip to go se it?
I was 33 when I watched this, and both my and my wife absolutely p*ssed ourselves laughing.
If you're after something lightweight and funny this should do the trick.
