There are a number of threads on here which discuss this and the other models that Asda are selling, just give the search facility a go.
I recently purchased a TX-26LMD70a (which has 2 HDMI sockets and a VGA connector which apparently offers better connectivity than the LXD) from Asda for £349. VERY pleased with it for this price.
I picked one up from Asda today... Very impressed with it so far.
Makes you wonder if Asda can sell it for £350, why Argos are selling it for £550, and that's after they have taken £50 in their "sale". I want to get this, but the nearest Adsa that has them in stock is about 50 miles away.
I bought the LMD70A from Asda last week and I'm also very pleased with it. It's worth the drive for it, although I only had to go 35 miles.
If you decide to get one of these then don't hang about, as I've heard that they aren't going to be getting any more in at that price.
Good luck, Robert.
Im intending to buy an 26LXD70, just waiting for them to come back into stock at my local John Lewis. Theyve agreed to pricematch EmpireDirect.com at £555, which is around £100 less than JL's ticket price.
Having compared the LMD70 and LXD70, I agree that they are both very good. However, to my eyes the LXD was even better and therefore worth the extra money. It just seemed a bit clearer, a bit sharper, a bit smoother with motion (it has 100hz). Ive also got some JL vouchers to use, which helps.
Although hardly the bible for such things, the LXD70 recently won What Hifi's group test.
That said, £349 for an LMD from Asda is amazing.
