    Hi

I am thinking of getting a reasonable LCD to use with my xbox as I am now sans projector. However, I am concerned about game speed as it plays way faster on a PJ than a normal CRT. Likewise, a progressive 100hz TV allowed the game to play much faster.

Going back to RGB on a normal 50hz TV is like playing in treacle....

So, anyone using an LCD? I have a modded x-box with a hi-def kit....

    Cheers,

    Pete.

    Hi Pete,

I've got a Hitachi 32LD7200; gaming with Hi-Def modded X-Box. I play Pro Evo 4 on it and it's superb - seems to run better than my previous 100Hz CRT.

The games through Hi-Def on the screen are fantastic (my TV is HDTV ready as I'm sure you're aware).

    Hope this helps...

    Steve

I may be wrong, but as far as I was aware, 100hz was an alternative to prog scan. I've never heard of prog scan working at 100hz. Also, 100hz tvs don't make games 'run faster'. All they do is repeat each field twice whereas a 50hz tv only shows each field once. Therefore, having 100hz cannot speed up the game. As for lcd gaming, I have a Tosh lcd and it's great for XBOX. Will be especially good for XBOX 360 when games can be run in 1280 by 720p 50/60 fps.

Rob, never claimed it was the 100hz that made the game run faster, was just describing the previous set up. Sorted now however, got a lovely LCD on the weekend.

    Pete.
