Found a load of cat5e in a skip yesterday (it had only been there a morning), and having already made my homebrew speaker cable, have no need for it. It is:

Belden 1583E UTP cat5e 4pr
similar to this: http://wadsworth.co.uk/catalogue/0/20482/Datatwist_1583E.html?

Has solid cores, but is not lszh I don't think. I've got 6x7m lengths and 2x5m.
I've checked the eight cores of 2 random lengths with a DMM, and as far as I can tell it's fine (just checked resistance, and got a reading of 0.9ohm for 7m on each of the cores). I could check it all if needs be. If anyone wants to pay for a jiffy bag and the postage, they can have it. Obviously I can't guarantee any or all of it, but I'm sure it's fine for someone wanting to try their first DIY cable. First come first serve.
