Anyone who has pre-ordered (and a few who haven't) probably want to know.
I had my name against the PV500 but found a thread about Powerhouse having some in stock, so I rang them and they have secured me 2 with floor cabinets and free DVD recorder @ £2100 each and best of all I'm going to pick them up today!
2 of them? my we are being greedy!!!
Only 1 for me!! the other one is for a friend, and no he isn't that good a friend so he's paying for his!
which branch ? and is that the price for the 42 or 37?
I've also got a 42" on order from Av-Sales (since the beginning of the month), and now getting somewhat anxious about knowing when my one is going to be delivered, as we're hearing all these great reviews from people who have managed to get theirs!
Come on Av-Sales, if you don't respond here, at least email your customers who have these on order to give us some idea of when we're going to get them!
I've just emailed Claire Tapp at Av-Sales for an update - if I get a reply, I will post the details here.
I emailed them (avsales) and they said it could be the first or second week of june, people who want pedestal vieras might have to wait even longer as theres supposedly a shortage of stands.Ive now cancelled with av sales and placed an order with panasonic which beat av sales price by £200 and have home instalation as well.
I know what you mean about getting anxious even panasonic say it may be a couple of weeks before they get anymore pedestal stands but they will have first dibs on the ones that do.
Had the following reply from Chris McNicoll at av-sales today:
Panasonic have informed me this morning that it will be at least another 10 days before any stock is available.
That is all the information that we have at the moment and it is unfortunate that Panasonic have made a difficult situation worse by supplying their own shops with a small amount of stock way ahead of anybody else.
Ho-hum... looks like we have to play the waiting game!
Looks like panasonics plan to screw online retailers is kicking off with avengance!
chandy3, can you confirm your receipt of the pv500 with cabinet?? i rang powerhouse who's online customer services know nothing of the pv500, did you get it from store or web??
received phone call from av sales today. th42 pv500 with pedestal being delivered tomorrow
Do you have a link to the site you purchased from? I went to the Panasonic site and it is selling the 37pv500 for £2295, not cheap compared to other sites.
That's great news, and gives you all weekend to play with it! Fingers crossed, I'm not going to have to wait too long now!
I've already bought a 512Mb SD Memory card for it (great deal at www.mymemory.co.uk for the Kingston at £17.99!)
In your dreams, I think you refer to the th42-pe50
I was in AV-Sales last week (Wed) and he said it would be another 10 days before the PV500 was in stock.
Well the email I got on 31st May stated 10 days, and I've not heard anything.
I've emailed them again to see whats happening.
Had a phone call from someone at AV-Sales this morning.
He stated that he has been in contact with Panasonic, and they (Panasonic) have stock due in the middle of next week.
He also stated that he will be ringing Panny next Monday to confirm the stock, and will call all customers on Monday to provide an update.
Also got a call. Supposedly back-orders coming in next week but no wall-mounts
Considering a fancy ventricular mount rather than panasonic anyway but panasonic don't appear to ship them without a mount!
Thats a bit tough from Panasonic! Didn't realise that they wouldn't ship without the mount.
The guy from AV-Sales did start to explain about the mount situation, when I informed him, that it didn't affect me, as I'd gone for the CAB version, he seemed quite relieved!
It looks like Panny have completely under-estimated the demand for the PV500 range.
they do every year handing sales to hitachi and pioneer who manage to get stock into the UK on time (panny are getting better believe it or not) and when they came with no mount everyone complained about having to buy a mount as well as the TV catch 22 I'm afraid
Another call from AV-Sales today (true to their word that they would call me on Monday), and have been informed that Panny have promised them the stock, and I should receive a call next Monday to sort out the delivery date! Hurrah!
I've only had the thing on order for two months now!
I wonder if they are going to reduce the price to reflect the prices of other internet retailers?
Jeez - this is driving me nuts!
I didn't receive a call today - so contacted AV-Sales.
I was informed that they have no idea as to when stock will be available, and when pressed on this, they replied "any day soon"!
Does anyone know of anywhere that has the UK models in stock, as I've now waited a month and a half with this on order, and to say I'm getting cheesed off waiting for the thing to arrive, is an understatement.
Tony ... I know the feeling. Had a PV500 PED on order since 2nd June (not from Av sales though). I can get no intelligent answers regarding the arrival of stock
Have just made contact with Panasoinc UK and basically said .... look if you want me to still purchase on of these... then give me some believeable news on likely shipment dates to the UK so I can then go chase the supplier I ordered from. Panny said they'd call me back today. Will update this thread if they do
Its driving me nuts too.Keep reading about folks getting their pv500s delivered mines been on order from panasonic for the last 4 weeks. Ive about given up now and just expect it when it comes.
i rang shop@panasonic in leciester today and they said panasonic are shipping them and the shipment should be here on the 30th so should have it neek week some time
then again things could change
I saw one on display today in Curry's at Weston-super-Mare.
I am no expert and my eyes are ageing, but I was very impressed by picture quality from BBC, showing the Tennis.
Price was something like £2.5k, plus £500 for the stand.
I've ordered one from Currys two weeks ago. When I called them about delivery, they told me that it was coming direct from Panasonic which suits me - I'm assuming I will be higher up the priority list that way?
I just hope you're not "higher up the priority list" than I am, after having mine on order since the 12th May!
I've received a nice email this afternoon from Alastair Collie (the MD) at AV-Sales concerning the situation, after he read this thread.
Some good news that has been confirmed is that they have been informed by Panasonic that a large consignment is due very soon, which should clear all of AV-Sales orders, and Alastair has been trying to obtain confirmation of the date.
Fingers crossed it will be sooner rather than later.
And nice one Alastair and his team for monitoring the forums, and keeping their customers informed - a nice bit of PR work there!
Thats the shop mines ordered from.
hopefully neek week then gonzo
