 OK about 5 years agi I seen a martial arts film on sky movies i think. I was about 2 american brothers that had entered into this fighting competion, (like mortal kombat style) , all the other fighters had their own style, i.e karate, sumo, western boxer, various other martial arts, even a big badass american dude with a combat knife. had some good fight sequences, had a man with blades in his pony tail that would run up walls and stuff. these are the things i can remember , does anyone know the title of this movie?? (i think it 'might' have had the word 'blood' in the title somewhere).

If anyone knows or has any ideas then please help :lease: :lease:

That sounds familiar. It's not bloodsport or best of the best by any chance?

could it be "The Quest" with Jean Claude Van-Dame?
It sounds like that a bit, but I dont remember any combat knives. It does however have the multy styled competition element.
If its not that, you should check it out anyway!

Without any more information I haven't a clue. I suppose you could try a more specialised forum interested in martial-arts movies or something?

If it's what I'm thinking of, it's called American Samurai
The blade in the Chinese fighters ponytail is what reminded me of it, good film :D

Thanks for the link, it could well be the film, altho on your link one of the user comments mentions a film called bloodfist, which could also be it, thing is there where 8 bloodfist films lol  from reading on imdb it looks like only bloodfist 1 and 2 had the 'tournament' plot, so i think i have got it down to either bloodfist 1/2 or american samurai..... will have to check them out, any more people wanna help then please do

That is not the same film.
I don't think American Samurai (starring Mark Dacascos and David Bradley) is available on DVD.
You can see a review of the VHS here
