Hi, do any of you know what song the Donkey is refering when he sings to Shrek

"I'm all alone, there's no-one here beside me.
I'm all alone, there's no-one to derive me.
But ya gotta have friends...."

The name or artist or anything would be great. I'm sure Dreamworks didn't make it up....

Thanks

Of course they didn't!! I'm a talented musician who makes up great music on-the-fly, for any situation that warrants it! Unfortunately I have not yet recorded the lovely snippett of music, but can promise all my loyal fans that something special is on the way:p ;)

err thanks

Sorry Shodan, I'm being silly! Is there any info on one of the Shrek sites? I agree it is hard to find the song without any more leads. I tried using HMV and play.com searches, but they don't know it - or at least searches for "you gotta have friends" and "I'm all alone":(

s' ok Nobber, good improv...

I am on a Dreamworks Shrek site at the mo, but not having too much luck! If your alter-ego, the musician, could help..... :D

The song in question is 'Friends', originally a Stateside hit for Bette Midler around 1972 or so. Available on her first (and best) album 'The Divine Miss M'.

Brill, thanks Paulie!!!!

:D :D :D
