Anyone here know anything about this 32" TV :

FINLUX 32FLD760

from Empire....

http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/conten...d~finlux.htm#_

Can't see much about it on the Finlux UK site although the Finnish version of their site does have this info that I've managed to suss: http://www.finlux.fi/1833

* LCD
* 32” (81 cm)
* (HD Ready), 1080i / 720p (50 / 60 Hz)
* Resolution 1366 x 768 (WXGA)
* Contrast 2000:1
* Dynamic Contrast 15000:1
* Brightness 550 cd/m2
* Viewing angles 176° / 176°
* Response Time 8 ms

This one might be easier to work out a translation though, in Swedish http://www.finlux.se/1899 or a very crude translation here ; http://www.tranexp.com:2000/InterTran?type=url&url=http://www.finlux.se/1899&text=&from=swe&to=eng

I believe Finlux are owned by a Turkish company called Vestel. This is worth a read about Vestel (they sell more TVs in Europe than Philips and both Sanyo and Hitachi use Vestel screens and rebadge them!) http://www.businessweek.com/globalbi...609_371863.htm

I have an Empire Direct EDExtra card so would also get three year warranty for this price. The warranty is important for me, and so with the others in this thread, they would also need warranty adding on top.

Any other knowledge about this tv? Do the specs look good to all you LCD Guru's out there (my main TV is plasma so I am new to the LCD game) this TV is for my bedroom and will be fed with SKYHD using HDMI or component leads.

Direct TV sell it but there site is vague too. They state positive feedback but I can't find it! Just questions...

My friend rang finlux about one of those TV's (the bigger version) and they told him the ratio was actually 1500;1 , not 15000;1.

You should check this...

Just thought i'd point that out for you. :)

All the info I can find states regular contrast of 2000:1 and a 'Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 15000:1 whatever Dynamic is?

Even at 2000:1 or even 1500:1 its not too bad for a 'cheap tv' is it?

1500:1 or 2000:1 is pretty unheard of with 32's. Is contrast ratio actually important ?
