Just as I thought I had finally made my mind up and my wifes about the PD30 or PF2. I read about the 40" Loewe.

Anyone got any experience of this set?

I have seen the Loewe 32" and as all have said the picture quality was awsome.

I saw it in a dealer room in Edinburgh last year and I was very dissapointed.

I was thinking it might be better than the usual 36" because of the size and the good reputation of Loewe.

It was just a very big telly with a curved screen that reflected the whole room in it (I could not believe how much reflection was there!).

The curved screen was a shock, as all the new TVs are now flat screen.

There was nothing special about the image quality either (and it was well fed from a quality DVD player - I think it was Arcam).

    All the Best,
    Julia

Just a thought, Anastie, I don't know how much you can stretch your budget to, but have you considered the Panasonic 37PW5B plasma display?

It costs about £500 more than the 40" Loewe, but it's worth checking out if your budget permits.

I was in your position (considering a 36"CRT, but I was worried about their reputation for problems), but when I realised that the 37" plasma was available for £2600-£2700, I added that to my shortlist.

    Cheers,

    Bob.
