Anyone know a good cabinet scratch repairer in the Midlands?

A long shot perhaps but who knows...

I just bought a pair of Sonus Faber Extremas - monster standmounts with walnut cabinets. They have several scratches, each a few inches long and quite deep. A specialist could do wonders with these marks and they do deserve quality attention - does anyone know of an appropriate person in the Midlands area?

Thanks for looking

Have a look in yellow pages for an antique restorer or french polisher. If you can't find one, try a piano shop or a clock repairer - they'll have a trade contact who can do this work.

Fair point; it is woodwork after all. I will try SF dealers too. It's sometimes interesting to go on personal recommendation though.

French polishers is what you're after mate.
I was working in Cov hospital recently and they were fixing the doors, doing a nice job too.
Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the firm or the area, although it was Midlands.

Aaarggh I'm still looking into it. I talked to a couple of French polishers but they both wanted to take the speakers away, strip them down and do the whole surface. I don't want this at all - I just want someone to hide the scratches as well as they can. So I gave up at this point and basically need to try others (cabinet makers perhaps).

If anyone knows of possibles in the Coventry/Warwick areas I'd be grateful for suggestions.

Actually, that's an interesting possibility to get me going. Thanks a lot
