Anyone heard the KEF KHT 5005 speaker package yet??

Im looking to upgrade early next year to a AV-Amp and speaker set. Possibly 5.1 or 7.1

I wanted Floor standers but, the wife wont allow it :(

3" drivers seam a little small.........
Maybe the 9000 might be better

I have just got the 2005.2's along with an extra pod for a 6.1 set up - love them they are great! Using with Yamaha RXV540 - even playing my CD's through my Pioneer DV464 DVD player which cost £90 the sound is great!

Watching TV through the amp (using an analogue L&R input from my cable box) and setting the amp to Neo:6 enhanced it sounds fantastic! You can hear everything... my chick thought there was a baby crying at the back of our house while she was watching Eastenders.....

And if that's not reference enough, my mate has mission floorstanders and surround 5.1 with a Yam amp and he said he was reeeeally impressed and has since bought some.

The 2005.2 are on my demo list....I just heard some people thought they were the dogz .......with Movies, but a little "thin" with music.

Im just try to get a good allround package, and i dont think ill be allowed to upgrade again for ages......

I heard the 5005s last week.

They sound great. Bit smoother than the 2005.2s. Imaging just as good.

    Look physically good too.

    Tom,

Do the 5005's have more bass in the midrange?

What I didn't like about the 2005's was the tiny voices coming through the centre channel.

I was looking for a more fuller sound without buying large floor standing speakers.

I would say the midrange is much better on the 5001s.

I love the 2005.2s, but agree the major area of dissapointment with them is midrange.

    Tom.
