On my HD-E1 this was the only disc I had problems with. In 1080i mode It would get strange horizontal line interference on the top part of the picture. When in 720p mode it was fine. Strange. Haven't played this disc all the way through, but what I saw in 720p was fine.

Something is up with your kit. TLS is superb looking on an A1.
Not the best film in the world but a stunning transfer.

Yes, probably with my setup or disc. However all other dozen HD DVD's are fine. I guess I will need to investigate further. I would be interested to know if The Last Samurai works on the HD-E1 for others OK at 1080i.

LS on Xbox360 + HD-DVD Addon looks great! no problems at all.

Have got the SD version and it's obviously a massive improvement over that. Watched it on my PJ at 80" and was stunned how good it was, the battle sceens are a great, as are some of the slower more subtle scenes such as the views from and around the village etc. :smashin:

Bought it at the weekend, but sound was exremely low volume, F&F: Tokyo Drift, and King Kong do not suffer same problem. Bith using the same audio format, so assume fault disc. Playing through Xbox 360 HD DVD.

    Took the disc back.

I have it and watch it on the 360 add on on a 42" plasma.

PQ is stunning in places, and boots the sddvd into touch. I'd thoroughly recommend the HDDVD
