anyone had warranty work through SonyCentre?

I have reported an issue with a Bravia V40 that I bought from Sony Centre in Dec 2005.
The guy said I have 3 years warranty and said he will forward the issue to their after sales dept.
He said that they will come and take it away until it gets fixed...
I was windering if they leave a stand in TV? H ementioned it could take up to 3 weeks or longer to fix some issues.... I can't be doing without a TV for that long.. especially as we have Sky HD and a new PS3...

How quick are they at coming out and getting goods back to you? Have you ever had them just replace the TV altogether due to the cost of the repairs etc?
