Just been into Currys and well impressed by the sound and picture quality. I did a quick comparison between a same priced Toshiba 50Hz model and also a Panasonic 100Hz model and the Samsung was way better.

However Ive been reading up on these threads on how the samsungs suffer from geometry problems? Has this been fixed now? I thought the price was very good (£499) and I get an extra £50 off on top with my Egg card if i buy any set from Curries :D

Also, anyone know what the Samsung WS32Z306V model is? Its listed on the Currys web site at exactly the same price and there seems to be no difference in features etc. Both the WS32Z306V and WS32Z306 come with the same stand so im not sure what the difference is?

The WS32Z306V doesn't have component inputs, the WS-32Z308P does and is the better model feature wise.

Just looked at the Samsung today in currys. Was dissapointed with the PQ on both DVD and analogue. I guess some price has to be paid for the compact tube.

Each to their own I guess. As I said, I did a quick comparison between this and one 50Mhz and another 100Mhz model and really liked the Samsung.

I had one for a month shaggy, before it got on my tits too much & I sent it back. Check this thread :

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229814

    to sum up:-

PROs - beautiful looking cabinet, great input options, nice picture with a good source
CONS - woeful geometry problems, digital processing chews up a poor source (sky or PS2 games), HiDef is not true HiDef

It still is quite cheap for what it is, but for my £500 I want something that works perfectly.

    Hi

    Thanx for reply.

I will not risk it now.

Really wanted a Tosh 36ZP46 but pricey.

May have to drop to a 32 but these are it seems real quality all round.

    What do you think?

I'd think twice.... to accomadate a slimmer fit tube the pixels on the outer edge of the TV are larger  to improve the scan lineararity as the guns approach the sides of the screen. While it may look like quite a sharp picture in the shop some further investigation/play will show up a whole barage of problems.

I also don't see what anyone see's in the stand provided looks woeful and totally ugly to me.
