    Hi,
Does anyone have a remote control for a philips dvdr recorder (any model) going spare, I could pay using paypal if need be. I know a lot of old dvdr880/890 have died so if anyone's still got their remote from a dead unit that would be ideal.

    Regards

Philips will sell you the handset direct if you contact their customer care section. Can't remember what the price was though but I don't think it was unreasonable. Failing that you might have more luck with your request in the classifieds forum...

I have the aluminium-cased remote from a DVDR 1000 if that is compatible. Please contact me if interested.

Why do you think sarcasm is involved?

If you do not even acknowledge the help of others, or point out spurious shortcomings of some of that help, then not many people are going to carry on trying.

What objections do you have with £4.50 p&p from Germany, BTW (in the absence of any other 'choice'?

I didn't find your "OK well I'll just let you carry on not being able to find one then" post much help at all, just a pointless comment thats all. And what do you mean I dont acknowledge help form others? I acknowleged your ebay comment didn't I, aswel as contacting rob via a pm, whats your problem pal.

and BTW I didn't fancy buying something abroad on ebay thats all, has nothing to with the p&p charge. Would have to wait a while till the auction finished, and then a longer wait for it to come from germany (assuming I won the auction at all, so many snipers these days). In the meantime I thought I'd post on here, ok.

Yes, that's certainly a type of acknowledgement.
Could you not have written this response instead of that above? You'd be surprised what a difference it might have made.

No, but sarcasm wasn't involved there either, and I thought we agreed there were "crossed wires". Was my apology not enough (for quoting your post inappropriately)?
