So what with the current (lack of) availability of the 3802 and the state of my finances, I've decided to go fo the slightly cheaper AVR-2802.....

Anyone got one? Any comments? Anyone know the best/cheapest place to buy one?

    Cheers :)

tee.. excellent amp, well worth it.. and not much difference in spec between it and the 3802... mainly 105w v 90w power and 1 versus 2 outputs for rear centres.

also some previous threads on this subject.. look for the 3802 2802 or similar and you should find a lengthy discusssion.

Yep I got a 2802 and I'm happy with it more than enough power for my room and I'm sure that meny other parts of my system will need improving before the amp does.

I have one too and more tha satisfied with it. I believe the recent What HiFi magazine erviewed it and gave it a full 5 star rating.

I didn't want to spend extra cash for the 3202, because I didn't feel I'd be using the extra benefits. I'd rather spend the extra £150 or whatever on better quality cables, etc, rather than on the extra 15W and 7th speaker output (which I won't need for now) and then find out I don't have enough money for good interconencts (which defeats the purpose of buying a Denon amp if bottlenecks are just going to impair the performance). Besides, the 2802 does have an upgrade port if decided later on that you want the 7th channel.

I'm still using 2 yr old Denon avr2800 and it still does the business. Its only got DTS & Dolby 5.1. No pre-outs for rears though but even now I can't see why I would need them.
I would definately go for another Denon, just because of great build quality and it has never let me down.
    Rock on Denon!

btw, Mission recommend wiring up rear centres in serial if you only have one output on your amp.. assuming your amp can do it.. should be fine on a 2802.
