Havent been for some years now but they seem to be including AV exhibitors this year. A lot of the names I'm entirely unfamiliar with so here is a list of some of them:BOLZANO VILLETRI,BLACK RHODIUM, CADENCE EUROPE,DIVERSE VINYL,ENSEMBLE AG,CHAPTER , INAKUSTIK, MARSHALL CHOONG AUDIO,PINSH , NORDOST and many other weird names. Doesnt appear to be any room for the mainstream mob Sony Philips etc???????

There has always been an element of lesser known brands on show there but this year they seemed to have surpassed themselves. Maybe its just about giving them a window to the general public though the veast majority who go there, in my eyes, dont seem the type who would / could spend vast sums of money on equipment no ones ever heard of.
Is there a AV show that takes place anywhere in the UK?

It is primarily a hifi show but Nordost is a well known cable manufacturer as is Black Rhodium (which used to be called something else).

The largest is at Bristol at the end of February each year where even AV Forums had a stand this year

Thanks for that Ian . I think I'll make a point of going next year even if its miles away from me.Heahthrow seems to becoming more and more esoteric each year appealing to a narrow group of people :nono: . Use to be good once with plenty of variety

I've never been to one of these shows either, but intend to make a real effort for the one in Bristol next year - if only to meet other forum users :)

What about the show at the Novotel last year, is this being repeated this year?

I like Heathrow. Its worth pointing out that the big names will be there as ever (normally in the same place as well) but in addition, several smaller names come as well. This to me is the joy of the place. I've already heard Arcam, Cyrus, Naim et al dozens of times but you can also listen to and enjoy Tube Technologies and Amphion loudpeakers and other names that so rarely get a look in. Trust me when I say that all of those names will generally bring something worth seeing.

    I'm certainly going :).

ok. Its just that normally they would list all the exhibitors and not just the high end ones. good as they may be I'm never going to purchase something that costs thousands so there would be no point in me going , but if there is going to be the usual cross section then maybe.Of that list only Nottingham analogue caught my attention.

Hmm- currently Arcam & Cyrus aren't listed- good choices me :suicide:. There are some other pretty big names there though. Also remember that a name you haven't heard before doesn't automatically mean it is expensive. I was staggered to learn that Atoll Electronique (who make some fairly impressive looking gear) are actually building gear in the £250-600 range.

Oh? My thinking was influenced by the statement " who’s who of the very best in high-end sound and vision." which implies very expensive. I'll still probably go though

Will be going as I have every year in the last decade AND I have the entrance stickers to prove it! :D

Will most likely go on Saturday and I'm really looking forward to the car stereo display.

(Will be going to the Hammersmith show too.)
