Curiously what is there specifically only available in Manhattan that you want?

They've discounted $650.00 off it.....c'mon, really? The camera shops in Manhattan and especially around Times Square are out and out shysters...I've seen tourists get ripped off there for obvious reasons, I for one wouldn't buy something in that type of shop for myself never mind anyone else, sorry.

Try this and suck up the import costs (potentially) Amazon.com : Nikon WP-N1 Waterproof Case for Nikon 1 J1 and J2 Cameras : Digital Camera Accessory Kits : Camera & Photo

    @rousetafarian

Normally, I would fully agree with you about what you say - most of the Camera/Tech shops in that area are indeed shysters as you say but bhphotovideo is an exception - they area very well established company with a great reputation both from the domestic US market & from overseas customers.

I would not hesitate to but anything from them but would run like the wind from most of the others!

OP - at that price why not just order it & have it sent by mail - even if you get hit by customs & VAT, it should still come out at around only £75!

    Suave!

If it's the B&H I visited in NY last year then you have nothing to worry about. The place is a camera enthusiasts wet dream.

    Shipping Cost To UNITED KINGDOM
    UPS Worldwide Saver
    3-5 Business Days Delivery
    $73.60
    Duties & Tax $45.00

It's $10 cheaper by International Mail but doesn't state what the Duty and Taxes will be.

    Hi,

Thanks for that - good to know! AFAIK, the shipping costs are first added to the item price & then usually Customs will be around 4.5% + VAT at 20% - if one is unlucky, then there might very well be so called "Handling Charges" depending on who deals with the parcel once it reaches our shores.

I have always been hit by customs when I have ever ordered from the USA but others have been luckier!

You have no idea about BnH.

Them and adorama are top notch and prices competetively

I know I made a sweeping generalisation from spending the many years travelling to the US inc NYC, I won't apologise for that and have happily been corrected by other more knowledgeable members than myself.

Thanks, it is going to cost $40 to post and then you will have to ship so I may stump up just paying to have it shipped to the UK but thank you very much for the offer
Still a lot cheaper than here anyhow

I will 10th BnH. ordered a BD player off them about 9 years ago. Ordered on the Monday, Wednesday got a call from UPS for the customs money (I had factored that in) and it was delivered Thursday. Top notch service. Mind you that was when £1 would get you $2

I bought a camera from the BnH shop in NY a few years ago. What an amazing place, it was huge and fully automated. After I placed my order the camera came in a plastic tote box that came round the shop on a conveyer belt.
I had previously gone in to a couple of the Dodgy shops that Rousetafarian mentioned and was put off with the hard sell and the unrealistic (cheap) prices they offered.

Ordered on Thursday and arrived today. Total cost was £120 which is a great saving on the £600 from Amazon
