Hi Folks,

Quick question - sometimes if i turn on the ps3 before switching on my amp/tv all i get is sound from the ps3 and no picture.. i have to switch off the ps3 - then power on to get the picture. I have the ps3 connected to my amp using hdmi and then onto the tv.. anyone else experience anything like this? Its not such a hassle as generally the tv and amp are on already when i switch on the ps3.. just a little but confusing more than anything else

Cheers,
Mick

thanks - i'm just trying to rule out a problem with my receiver.. i think its more likely to be a HDMI handshaking issue..

cheers,
mick

Got my PS3 today and it played Casino Royale blu-ray fine.
I thought I'd try a DD EX DVD and tried to play Final Destination 2.
The screen just went blank with no sound either.
I only could get out of this by switching the PS3 off and on again at the power supply.
I tried again and the same thing happened.

Any advice on what's wrong?

Something similar has happend a couple of times to me - ive turned it on and the start up sound has played but no picture - ive found it was because I had knocked the the HDMI cable when I turned it on or off and it had come slightly loose (its not the most secure connection) - I secured it again, reset the console and it then worked fine, just have to be more careful turning it on or off.

I recently watched casino royale followed by star wars episode 3 which is a dd ex film and had no problems, have you connected your ps3 to the net and downloaded the newest firmware?,if you've done that and are still having trouble then maybe someone else on here who has casino royal bd and final destination 2 dvd could try it out and see how it goes on their ps3, otherwise i'd suggest taking the ps3 back and exchanging it.

I got the newest firmware straight away.
My PS3 played Casino Royale perfectly and other DVDs I put in it.
It's only Final Destination 2 that locks it up.

maybe it's an issue with that particular dvd, i'll see if i can borrow it off my mate and let you know how i get on.
