Can't believe I've missed these latest updates :)
White seats are vegan-friendly synthetic leather. They keep cleaner than real leather and are even softer to the touch. All new Tesla cars (regardless of seat colour) are now synthetic leather. As is the steering wheel. So it's a "vegan-friendly car".

Mine has been great, enjoying doing a lot of blablacar as I often drive to Paris and South West France. I do have a 12V auxiliary battery issue (again!) which needs sorting. Doesn't impact the main battery's range.

Oh and I had a moment of madness last month

Driving up a mountain is the best experience I've had to date. So easy (no never-ending gear changes at hairpins), so quiet, so comfortable. Really allows you to appreciate the scenery.

View at the top wasn't too shabby either.

Despite the few minor and one major issue I've had with the car, I still cannot ever get bored of driving it (or being driven). There's just nothing that comes close.

In other news, the Jaguar IPace is now becoming available. But Jag haven't really got anything to permit easy long distance travelling. They don't have a fast charging network and aren't working with Tesla / Supercharging. So Rapid DC charging will be relatively slow and painful for long distance / holiday travels.

First Model 3 deliveries have started for non Tesla/Space X staff. Day one west coast owners with current Tesla (essentially first in line) are now getting their cars :)

RHD deliveries still predicting 2019 so maybe next year this time we'll be able to configure a 3 for my wife - but more likely in autumn/winter 2019.

    Cannot wait!!!

Enjoy the sleigh. I can't with mine - 12V battery issue seems to prevent updates...

He's easy to spot when you seen him :D

Getting used to the range on my 75 now and the anxiety has pretty much gone. It's amazing how after just a few longer journeys you get used to it and the satnav is scarily accurate on destination battery level.

The $35,000 Tesla Model 3 Is Actually AMAZING

Non Tesla employee Model 3 reviews are now starting to come out, 0-60 in 4.4 seconds versus the 5.1 on the 'official' spec list.

I don't think I have ever been so excited about a cheaper car than one I'm already driving, but the 3 really does look fantastic. We had thought about getting an used S for my wife instead as I think price wise the S might even work out cheaper, but as a self confessed EV fanatic not owing a Model 3 is just not a option.

    Bring on 2019/20 :)

Hope this is the right place to put this video of the iPace as it would probably be a competitor to the Tesla?

Details are very thin atm but from 2018 Jaguar I-Pace: latest news, price and pictures

The I-Pace is pegged to have a range of over 300 miles, which it gets thanks to a 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Even better news, Jaguar states it will have a recharge time of just two hours when using a 50kWh DC socket. The claimed power output is 395bhp, which when paired with 700Nm of torque from two electric motors, means the I-Pace will reach 62mph from a standstill in just four seconds.

We quite like the Pace. At last a smaller bodied car compared to the Tesla with what looks like around the same travel distance.

Ipace doesn't interest me at all, SUV body style but cannot seat more than 5, whats the point?

But this thing......I've always wanted a Jag, the current XJ supersport was at the top of the car shopping list before I jumped to EVs. We'll keep our X till at least 2025 by than even if we do have anothet sprog they should be old enough to not need all the extra space. We can than dump the SUV body style for this beauty

Pretty much, Lexus NX, inside has the same space as our IS but its just bigget outside for no reason. Friends GLC, looks massive outside inside pretty much identical to a C class.

Our X is a big car, but it feels big inside, my wife can go from the passenger seat to the third row without even having to open any doors or move any seats.

At the moment the extra space is really useful, the third row makes for a great changing table!! But as our daughter gets older the need for the space gets less, and hopefully in a few years we can go back to non SUV car :).

It's funny, I remember our family of 6 all fitting inside a Fiat 500 back in 1973 ;)

Looking at some numbers, your Model X is bigger than a most other 7 seat SUVs (in width in pretty much all cases and length in many), so you'd expect more space inside. It is lower than most of them, though (presumably because they are designed with off-road in mind).

    Q7: wider, shorter and lower
    XC90: wider, longer and lower
    Discovery: wider, longer and lower
    X5: wider, longer and lower

    You get the picture.

Whats even more funny is the fact both me and my wifes grew up been carried around on pedal bikes because our parents couldn't afford to own a car.

My 20months old daughter on the other hand thinks a car with self opening doors, space inside to run around is normal!!!

    I miss my EV!

Driving @Sinead's car today and she has mine and I have to say I miss the EV driving style. It's so different and takes a little while to get used to but now I don't enjoy driving anything else.

The EV is so smooth all the time. Zero lag when pulling away/accelerating and I really miss the regen-braking when letting my foot off the accelerator.

Now I'm forgetting to start @Sinead's car when I get in and keep trying to select drive or reverse with the indicator stalk :rotfl:

@Desmo @Sinead Last weekend we had x2 toddlers in the X along with 4 adults, this weekend been ferrying around the grandparents and sproggling with still room in the boot for a spare baby seat. The ease the X manages to swallow up people is almost embarrassing!!

Also finally gave the car a very quick wash, nice to remember what a white car looks like without a brown hue of mud :)

How easy is it to access the back row with baby seats in the middle? Or is that the back row?

^ Whole seat move forwards and tilts out of the way even with kid seats attached, so getting into the back is quite easy. My wife is actually slim enough to squeeze past the kid seat and than into the third row via the central aisle.

You can see how much kids junk you can keep in the space between the 2nd row two seats!!

Even with the 3rd row seats up the boot is surprisingly big, I got a full sized suite case, a carry on, folded up travel cots, some random play mats in with no issues....and I think there is also a folded up babyzen push chair in there some where :).

The X is a big car on the outside, but inside its like a play room.

Ah, so it's in 2, 2, 2 config? makes sense now, I assumed you were in 2,3,2 with a possible 60/40 split in the middle row

^ Thought about 2,3,2 but the central aisle is what really sets the car apart from all the other SUVs on the market. We may well be adding to the brood at the soon, which will make the third row utility really come in hand.

If we didn't have kids, the Model S would have been our choice, lighter, cheaper, faster, longer range.....Really cannot complain, the X does everything we ask of it and more. :)

What sets it apart from other SUVs is it is electric. What if you need 7 seats? It's then the worst SUV on the 7 people mover market.
